Why settle for one terrible LN adaptation about magic high school and dragons when you can have two? Our viewing party for Seiken Tsukai no World Break’s first episode consists of Kelloggs, ParticularlyPeeved, myself and our friend Shinzen.

Kelloggs: Well, you know what we need to defeat these dragons?

PumpkinMochi: The D?

Kelloggs: Yes.

Kelloggs: What’s with that hair? I always get confused when people declare “I won’t forgive X” in situations where their opponent clearly has no interest in their forgiveness.

PumpkinMochi: God of Thunder? Wait, please have Thor in this show also.

Kelloggs: WHAT

PumpkinMochi: So far, I think this looks better than the other three bad shows we’ve seen.

Kelloggs: How many shows do we have that start with a cold opening of a battle?

ParticularlyPeeved: Too many.

Kelloggs: Damn, where’s Boundless? He’s missing out on the witch hats.

Kelloggs: WHAAAAAAT

Shinzen: Oh my God, really?

PumpkinMochi: Why even bother fighting against him.

Kelloggs: So did anyone else notice her shoulder straps passing through her arms

PumpkinMochi: Oh goddamnit

Shinzen: What if it’s like a smartsuit with nanotech that re-forms around your arms as you pull it up?

Kelloggs: I’m gonna go with alpha waves as an explanation.

Kelloggs: NO PLEASE DON’T

Shinzen: AUGHHHHH

PumpkinMochi: He looks like he’s been in the school for ten years.

Kelloggs: He probably worked in a warehouse for ten years before deciding to go back to school.

ParticularlyPeeved: Oh, so she’s Shirou. Actually, she’s better than Shirou.

Kelloggs: Yeah, she’s at least better than fate Shirou. UBW Shirou is not that bad.

Shinzen: Oh my God, I can already guess what’s gonna happen. She’s gonna lose and the guy will have a flashback to when his sister was in danger. He’ll jump in to rescue her and intervene with dark powers, and everyone will be amazed.

PumpkinMochi: If that happens and they call him a demon lord candidate, that’ll be the worst.

Kelloggs: We joked about Fafnir getting Diomedia’s D team, but I’m trying to decide between which is worst between this or Fafnir in terms of production values.

Shinzen: But she didn’t even get hurt.

Kelloggs: Yeah, but her suit. I bet that nano-tech was expensive.

Kelloggs: Good job beating someone more than a decade younger than you.

Shinzen: You know what, I like that guy.

Kelloggs: Can we talk about the fact that she has one twintail and a bow? Did she lose the other one during the war?

ParticularlyPeeved: Maybe she used to be a twintail, but took an arrow to the head?

PumpkinMochi: Boo.

PumpkinMochi: Oh no! He went full Exorcist!

PumpkinMochi: It looked more like they’re sucking on her fries.

Kelloggs: I’d suck on her fries.

Shinzen: Yay best character.

PumpkinMochi: Her nii-sama is in trouble. There’s no time to put on clothes!

Kelloggs: Wow, what a flopper. He should go play basketball in Europe.

ParticularlyPeeved: I’ll just continue using this broken sword, it’ll definitely work at some point!

Kelloggs: Nevermind the fact that the other guy has four times the reach you do.

Kelloggs: How much longer do we need to see him getting his ass kicked before he uses MC power.

Shinzen: They need to pad the airtime.

Kelloggs: They could have padded it with the imouto getting dressed.

PumpkinMochi: Oh man, imouto’s here. Now he’ll have enough motivation to win.

Kelloggs: I think the ending song is the voice actresses trying to be Ali Project.

Shinzen: What a lame name for a sword.

Kelloggs: Oh, the rest of the harem’s here!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Kelloggs: Oh, so can we talk about that Shizuno is best girl.

PumpkinMochi: That seems about right.

Shinzen: Speak for yourselves, I think the old guy is best girl.
