PP Power Rankings – Fall 2014 Week 13

Here we have the final rankings for Fall 2014 for the bloggers at Pedantic Perspective.

Coming up soon will be the results for the entire year.

1. Shirobako
2. Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
3. Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu
4. Yama no Susume Second Season
5. Sora no Method

1 Shirobako 3.56 (=) > 75
2 Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 2.55 (=) > 75
3 Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu 2.53 (-1) > 75
4 Yama no Susume Second Season 1.22 (+1) < 50
5 Sora no Method 1.02 (-1) < 25
6 Amagi Brilliant Park 0.67 (=) < 25
7 Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru 0.58 (-1) < 25
8 Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu. 0.43 (+4) < 50
9 Log Horizon 2 0.18 (=) < 25
= Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis 0.18 (+2) < 25
11 Garo The Animation 0.17 (NEW) < 25
12 Gundam Build Fighters Try 0.08 (NEW) < 25

Surprisingly, Parasyte actually was overtaken, even thought it received a lot of votes. Fate/Stay Night had a very strong final episode according to most people, giving it the strongest growth over the last four weeks of all shows.

We also had some new entrants in Garo and Gundam Build Fighters Try, both of which are still running, so I wonder if they will make an impact in Winter 2015.

And the blog’s “marquee” show of season Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu gained four ranks this week because people really have no taste.

But to conclude this season, the top five shows with the highest scores were:

Shirobako – 3.56/5
Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works – 2.55/5
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu – 2.53/5
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso – 1.78/5
Yama no Susume Second Season – 1.22/5

By looking at the results, it’s safe to surmise that Shirobako is the must watch show of the season. Fate/Stay Night and Parasyte (Kiseijuu) are good recommendations in general. Everything else scored less than 2/5, and should probably be considered based on your tastes.

Of course, three out of the five shows are going to continue into Winter 2015, and Fate/Stay Night will continue in Spring 2015. Plus Yama no Susume was a two cour show, so actually no show that was completely contained in Fall 2014 made it into the top five.

Since next season seems even weaker, we’re probably going to be seeing very similar results going forward. Let us see what the new year brings…
